Summer camp is one of the most valuable experiences your Scout can have with his troop: we build community, learn new skills and earn merit badges, and above all, we have a huge amount of fun.

Registration is open NOW on TroopMaster.
To register, visit the Activity Calendar on TroopMaster, go to July 5 and click on the Keowa event.
Registration requires a $70 non-refundable deposit (+ $3 processing fee) per week of summer camp.
The deadline for registration and deposits is February 24th.
If the cost of camp is prohibitive this year, camperships are available from the Greater NY Council.
To apply for a campership, you must FIRST register on TroopMaster and make a $70 deposit (+ $3 processing fee), then complete the 2026 GNYC Campership Application via the Keowa Parent Portal.
Please see further information and important deadlines from the council at the link below, and contact Chris Saviano for your parent portal details.
Keowa Medical forms are due for all Scouts and chaperoning adults on June 1, without exception. You will need a physician's signature for the forms, so please make an appointment between Feb 1 and April 30 to be sure of receiving the forms in time.
Please download the health form packet at the button below and ask your doctor to
1. complete and sign Part C,
2. complete and sign the OTC Medication form,
3. provide a copy of your Scout's immunization record. See our FAQs for the list of required vaccinations.
A link to submit these health forms and other parent-provided health information is in Step 4.
Make sure you have obtained your doctor's signature for Part C, the OTC Medication form and your Scout's immunization record before starting this step (see instructions in step 3).
You will be asked a series of health questions and be invited to attach the completed forms from your doctor.
Scouts should review the full schedule of 2026 Keowa Merit Badges and please pay close attention to age requirements for badges and pre-requisites.
What is a pre-requisite? Several merit badge choices require Scouts to complete some work before camp. Scouts should plan for this work and come prepared, Scouts that do not complete their pre-requisites will earn a "partial badge".
Parents of registered Scouts will all receive an email from Chris Saviano with their family's unique payment portal. Please get in touch if you have not received this email or cannot find it.
To qualify for the Early-Bird rate per week of camp and to book merit badges, final payments must be made by March 31. The Troop will be unable to book merit badge choices for Scouts with unpaid balances, so we ask all families to honor this deadline. Payments made after the deadline will incur a $25 additional fee for camp.

All Scouts can register! We recommend that Scouts attend at least one weekend camping trip with the Troop before attending summer camp, especially young Scouts that have never before had a sleepaway camp experience. A week in a tent in the woods with creepy crawlies can be a shock to our newer Scouts, but rest assured that Summer Camp is where Scouts fall in love with Scouting!
Keowa is one of the best deals in summer camping!
Yes! The Troop will camp together at Keowa during the first week of summer camp, but Scouts that would like to attend Aquehonga or Keowa at any other time during the camp season can do so as “provisional Scouts”. This is not generally recommended for first-time campers, however.
Yes! Scouts over 15 years of age who would like to spend the whole summer at Keowa or Aquehonga can apply for the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program. We highly recommend this program!
Counselors-in-Training can complete merit badges, and we have many current Troop members who will be working at Camps Keowa and Aquehonga this summer!
Keowa has an amazing schedule of merit badges and classes. The full 2026 schedule is coming soon!
As you make your choices, please note:
We are so glad you asked! This is VERY important. Health forms for summer camp require a doctor’s signature (for both Scouts and adults), so please make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. These forms are required for ALL Scouts registering for Keowa, even if you submitted forms for the troop earlier in the year.
Please download the health form packet and take it to your doctor. Ask your doctor to
1. complete and sign Part C,
2. complete and sign the OTC Medication form,
3. provide a copy of your Scout's immunization record. By order of Sullivan County, NY, immunizations MUST include Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP/DTP/Tdap), Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), Polio (IPV/OPV), Varicella (Chickenpox), and Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY).
When you have obtained your signed documents from your doctor, submit these health forms and other parent-provided health information in our health form portal.
The deadline to submit health forms is June 1.
YES, YES, YES!!! We need and welcome volunteers – we are so grateful for our community of enthusiastic adults, and as the Troop grows, we need more of you. This is a great opportunity to do BSA training, and camp counts towards nights needed to join the Order of the Arrow. For adults who would like to register for summer camp, please note:
If you would like to join us at Keowa, please email saskia.siderow@gmail.com
There will be no organized transportation for summer camp. Parents must drop off and pick up their Scouts, or make their own arrangements to car pool with other drivers.
Scouts with special dietary needs or allergies should indicate these on their health forms.
With advance notice, the Camp Keowa food service can accommodate almost all dietary restrictions, except kosher meals, as they do not have a supervising Rabbi. Please contact Saskia Siderow if you have special requirements.
If your Scout has registered for camp but cannot attend for any reason: a change of plans, illness or other unexpected event, you MUST let leadership know as soon as possible. Please contact Chris Saviano.
We cannot secure refunds for late cancelations except under special circumstances (please see refund policy below).
Under certain circumstances, the registration fee for a camper or leader may be refunded, either in whole or in part. Refund checks will be written to units and not to individual families, so please allow for processing times.
