Submit Medical Forms

Merit Badge Pre-Requisites

Merit Badge Pre-Requisites

Keowa Medical forms are due for all Scouts and chaperoning adults on June 1, without exception. You will need a physician's signature for the forms, so please see your doctor as soon as possible to be sure of receiving the forms in time.

Please download this health form packet and ask your doctor to

1. complete and sign Part C,

2. complete and sign the OTC Medication form,

3. provide a copy of your Scout's immunization record. See our FAQs for the list of required vaccinations.

Once you have received the signed forms from your doctor, please submit them and responses to additional health questions at the button below.

Several merit badge choices require Scouts to complete some work before camp. Please review your merit badge schedule and complete the requirements before camp!

If a Scout does not complete all of the requirements for his merit badge at Keowa, that is fine. He will be issued a “partial” merit badge that can be completed at any time before he turns 18. The camp keeps track of which requirements have been completed for the badge. Adult leaders will be checking in with the Scouts mid-week to see how they are progressing.

Medications at Camp

Be Prepared! You can see a suggested packing list for Keowa by clicking on the button below. Some must-have items: duct tape to repair tears in your tent, mosquito net. Do NOT bring food of any kind. There are bears and other wildlife that will be drawn to food in tents. NO PERSONAL TENTS.

Scouts should arrive in their Class B shirts. Pack your swimsuit and towel in the top of your pack as we will take a swim test as part of the check-in process. All Scouts must complete the swim test.

Medications at Camp

Food Allergies and Intolerances

Medications at Camp

Scouts who take medication regularly should bring medications to camp in their original packaging with dosage information. (It helps to put all packaged meds in one ziplock bag, labeled with your Scout’s name and Troop.)

Medications will be handed to the Troop Leader for camp (Antonio Del Rosario), who will ensure they are given to the camp nurse. Scouts will be directed to the Camp Nurse at mealtimes to get their medication.

If your Scout regularly takes medication to manage ADHD or similar neurodiversity issues at school, we strongly recommend that they continue their medications at camp. Merit badge classes and safety needs at the camp site can require a similar level of focus to school.

Food Allergies and Intolerances

Food Allergies and Intolerances

Food Allergies and Intolerances

Keowa can accommodate Scouts with food allergies or intolerances, but it is important that they receive advance notice. If you have an allergy or intolerance please be sure to list it on your health forms, AND to inform the Trip Leaders directly. We don't want any bad surprises!

Contact at Camp

Food Allergies and Intolerances

Food Allergies and Intolerances

The adult leaders will have cell phones available, but Scouts should not have a phone at summer camp. This is a time to unplug.

If there is an emergency, we will call you. If you need to reach us, you can call us on our cell phones (available on Troopmaster). Keep in mind that reception is spotty so it might take a bit of time for us to get back to you. The best person to contact is Scoutmaster Antonio del Rosario.

Please be available if we need to reach you and able to drive to camp to pick up your Scout in case of emergency or the rare case of extreme homesickness. This is not the time to leave the country on vacation.

Getting to Camp

What if I can't make it to Camp?

Arrival and Pick Up

Camp Keowa is at 1481 Crystal Lake Road, Narrowsburg, NY. The drive from NYC should take approx. 2 hours.

There will be no organized transportation for summer camp. Parents must drop off and pick up their Scouts, or arrange their own car pools with other drivers.

July 5th 11.30am - July 11th 830am: Camp!

All Scouts can register! We recommend that Scouts attend at least one weekend camping trip with the Troop before attending summer camp, especially young Scouts that have never before had a sleepaway camp experience. A week in a tent in the woods with creepy crawlies can be a shock to our newer Scouts, but rest assured that Summer Camp is where Scouts fall in love with Scouting!

Keowa is one of the best deals in summer camping!

  • $670 per week (for week 1 with the troop)
  • $705 per week for Trail to Eagle Camp (weeks 1-5, for 2nd class and above)
  • All registrants must pay a $70 non-refundable deposit (+$3 processing fee). This includes Scouts applying for camperships.
  • After registration has closed, all families will receive a payment link to the camp website to pay their final balance.
  • The deadline for final payment is March 31st.
  • Late payments will incur an additional $25/week of camp as you will lose the Early Bird rate. Webelos Scouts crossing over will qualify for the Early Bird rate until June 1.
  • Scouts who spend an additional week at Keowa or Aquehonga will receive a $100 discount for each additional week, or $150 discount for a specialty camp. Exceptions apply (Aviation camp, SCUBA camp)

  • Registration is open NOW on TroopMaster.
  • To register, visit the Activity Calendar on TroopMaster, go to July 5 and click on the Keowa event. Registration requires a $70 non-refundable deposit (+ $3 processing fee) per Scout.
  • The deadline for registration and deposits is February 24th.
  • Registration is still possible after Feb 24th, provided we have enough adult leaders to support a larger group. Please email Chris Saviano if you would like to submit a late registration.
  • This year, the Troop is only managing registrations for the Troop's Week 1 attendance at Keowa. If you plan to attend an additional week of camp, or you will go in a different week, please make those reservations and merit badge choices independently, as provisional Scouts.
  • Keowa Registrations are available here.
  • Aquehonga Registrations are available here.

  • If the cost of camp is prohibitive this year, camperships are available.
  • To apply for a campership, you must first register and make your $70 deposit, then request your parent portal information from Chris Saviano.
  • Visit the Keowa parent portal for your Scout and complete the application.
  • 2026 Campership applications should be submitted by Jan 29 for first round consideration, by Feb 16 for second round consideration. Applications submitted after that date will be considered based on funding availability. Campership awards will still benefit from the early bird rate.
  • The Troop also has camperships available in the event that the council does not award enough to make camp affordable. Please complete the financial aid form if needed.

Yes! The Troop will camp together at Keowa during the first week of summer camp, but Scouts that would like to attend Aquehonga or Keowa at any other time during the camp season can do so as “provisional Scouts”. This is not generally recommended for first-time campers, however.

  • This year, the Troop is only managing registrations for the Troop's Week 1 attendance at Keowa. If you plan to attend an additional week of camp, or you will go in a different week, please make those reservations and merit badge choices independently, choosing the provisional Scout option.
  • Keowa Registrations are available here.
  • Keowa charges $680/week for provisional campers
  • Aquehonga Registrations are available here.
  • Aquehonga provisional campers should choose the $670 BSA Youth option and select the provisional campsite during registration.
  • Scouts registering for extra weeks will receive a $100 discount/week. Exceptions apply. (Aviation Camp, Scuba Camp and NYLT)

Yes! Scouts over 15 years of age who would like to spend the whole summer at Keowa or Aquehonga can apply for the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program.  We highly recommend this program!

Counselors-in-Training can complete merit badges, and we have many current Troop members who will be working at Camps Keowa and Aquehonga this summer!

You can apply here.

Keowa has an amazing schedule of merit badges and classes. The full 2026 schedule is coming soon!

As you make your choices, please note:

  • You take the same class each day of the week (e.g., Swimming would be each day from 9-950am). You select a new class each hour, though some classes may be double sessions.
  • There is a special program for First Year Campers – especially suited to young Scouts who would like to work on their basic Scouting skills and rank advancement, available in either the morning or afternoon sessions.
  • Scouts must have a full morning schedule of activities. No Scouts are allowed in camp at that time. Afternoons can include some free time to relax or play games.
  • Pay close attention to age/rank limitations and any pre-requisites that Scouts must complete before attending camp. Some badges may require that Scouts purchase kits and spend additional time on their work outside of class. Please review the requirements and ask your leaders if you are unsure!
  • Scouts are discouraged from taking Eagle-required badges until they are Second Class or above. The Scoutmaster must approve all exceptions to this - please discuss with him if needed. We encourage all Scouts to take Pioneering, Orienteering, Geocaching. Swimming and Environmental Science are great Eagle badges to earn while at camp.
  • Scouts attending additional weeks will book their merit badges directly on their registration for that week.
  • Badge registrations are first-come first served! You are encouraged to submit your choices early, particularly for popular activities such as kayaking or shooting sports.
  • When you are ready with your choices, please complete our Merit Badge Form.
  • The deadline to submit your merit badge choices is March 20

We are so glad you asked! This is VERY important. Health forms for summer camp require a doctor’s signature (for both Scouts and adults), so please make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. These forms are required for ALL Scouts registering for Keowa, even if you submitted forms for the troop earlier in the year.

Please download the health form packet and take it to your doctor. Ask your doctor to

1. complete and sign Part C,

2. complete and sign the OTC Medication form,

3. provide a copy of your Scout's immunization record. By order of Sullivan County, NY, immunizations MUST include Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP/DTP/Tdap), Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), Polio (IPV/OPV), Varicella (Chickenpox), and Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY).

When you have obtained your signed documents from your doctor, submit these health forms and other parent-provided health information in our health form portal.

The deadline to submit health forms is June 1.

YES, YES, YES!!! We need and welcome volunteers – we are so grateful for our community of enthusiastic adults, and as the Troop grows, we need more of you. This is a great opportunity to do BSA training, and camp counts towards nights needed to join the Order of the Arrow. For adults who would like to register for summer camp, please note:

  • Adults can attend for the full week or a partial week of camp (Partial weeks can be a great choice for parents of young Scouts to get involved).
  • Adults should expect to have limited interaction with their own Scout.
  • Camp Keowa offers fantastic adult training programs.
  • Adults will have their mornings free, and then will need to be available to assist Scouts as needed in the afternoon.
  • Adults must follow the same registration and health form deadlines (health forms Part C must also be signed by a doctor)
  • The camp has limited cell service and wifi.
  • Adults attend for free.
  • Adults must have an active registration with the BSA as a ‘Scouter’ with the unit.
  • Scoutmaster Del Rosario has final approval for all volunteer adults.

If you would like to join us at Keowa, please email saskia.siderow@gmail.com

There will be no organized transportation for summer camp. Parents must drop off and pick up their Scouts, or make their own arrangements to car pool with other drivers.

  • Scouts who take medication regularly should bring medications to camp in their original packaging with dosage information. (It helps to put all packaged meds in one ziplock bag, labeled with your Scout’s name and troop.)
  • Please make sure that needed medications appear on the Scout's health forms.
  • Medications will be handed to the Troop Leader for camp (Antonio Del Rosario), who will ensure they are given to the camp nurse.
  • If your Scout regularly takes medication to manage ADHD or similar neurodiversity issues at school, we strongly recommend that they continue their medications at camp. Merit badge classes and safety needs at the camp site can require a similar level of focus to school.
  • Medication times are:
    -BEFORE and AFTER breakfast
    -AFTER lunch
    -BEFORE and AFTER dinner
    -Between 8 and 8:30pm

Scouts with special dietary needs or allergies should indicate these on their health forms.

With advance notice, the Camp Keowa food service can accommodate almost all dietary restrictions, except kosher meals, as they do not have a supervising Rabbi. Please contact Saskia Siderow if you have special requirements.

If your Scout has registered for camp but cannot attend for any reason: a change of plans, illness or other unexpected event, you MUST let leadership know as soon as possible. Please contact Chris Saviano.

We cannot secure refunds for late cancelations except under special circumstances (please see refund policy below).

Under certain circumstances, the registration fee for a camper or leader may be refunded, either in whole or in part. Refund checks will be written to units and not to individual families, so please allow for processing times.

You can read Keowa's full refund policy here.
